Temple Hills resident Stephanie Marie Murphy was arrested in connection to reported thefts at the Charlotte Hall Veterans home months after a probe was launched by local, county, and state police.

Investigators say that it was determined that Murphy had misrepresented her identity while using an online platform designed to assist with staffing at the Charlotte Hall Veterans Home.

It was later determined that her license had been suspended in Maryland, Virginia, and DC.

An arrest warrant was issued in September charging Murphy with 25 counts of misrepresentation – registered nurse and 27 counts of practicing registered nursing by fraudulent representation.

She later turned herself in, according a spokesperson from the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office on Friday, Oct. 4.

Murphy was later released pending her next court appearance.

The incidents remain under investigation.
